Allow me to prepare you now: there is going to be an onslaught of DIY board games headed your way. I’d say that I’m sorry – but, let’s face it, the truth is you’re welcome x x
Anthropologie (does it not always start with them?) came out with some absolutely stunning board games over Christmas. Think tiled Monopoly and the most gorgeous Scrabble deck you ever did see. Alas, their festive options have all since sold out – but check out some of their current offerings to read the vibe.
The vibe = cute AF.
Since then, I have been wanting- nay, needing to make a coffee table and style it with cute handmade board games. (And, if they ever re-release the tiled Monopoly, also that.) So today I bring you my first attempt – but definitely not my last!
Like, not even my last attempt at tic-tac-toe. I can 1000% make this board again but better – and I will.
A la my secondary school literacy education, I have thoughts, feelings and emotions about this craft. First: surprisingly easy and also fun. These are wins. Second: I’m not vibing the colours or the splotched patterns. Third: wouldn’t this make a quirky – and cute – DIY gift idea?
The clay set me back $5 for 500g – and that went into making some other goodies too – but everything else I already had! So this was wonderfully cheap. Anyhoo – shall we get into the making?
WHAT YOU NEED:
HOW TO MAKE:
I find working with clay hard to describe – so here’s a handy ‘lil TikTok tutorial for you!
See – super easy to make yourself! The trickiest part was definitely making the little crosses; when I make this again, I think I’ll try finding a shape cutter to give them a neater finish.
Alas, I feel like I am always saying sorry in these posts!
My regular readers will know that life has been real busy lately. I moved to Canada (so fun, so beautiful, big vibes) to be with my best friends . . . however, the house we had lined up fell through.
So it’s been a lot of house-hunting and catching up – plus, there’s literally been no room for crafting. We’re checking out a promising house later today, though, so keep your fingers crossed for me! (Please. I need a desk; my back is crying.)
As ever, if you enjoyed this post, make sure to give it a share! And don’t forget to let me know your thoughts in the comments below.

Oh wow, I love this!! It really takes me back, I used to make literally everyone play this with me on random pieces of paper whenever I was bored for more than 2 minutes as a kid so my inner child is screaming looking at this. Adult me loves the aesthetic of this too. Such a great idea! x
