Regular readers of this blog – and definitely those of you who follow me on TikTok – will know that your girl has ADHD. Now, as it’s something that heavily affects my day-to-day life, I’ve spent a lot of time researching management strategies and the brain stuff behind my sometimes-kinda-stupid.
With the holiday season fast approaching, I have been trying to think of wishlist items that are:
- Practical (because the world is dying and impractical things will often end up in landfill)
- Non-clutter (did I mention the ADHD?)
- But still a little fun? (I’m not dead yet…)
And so, I present to you my list of 30 legitimately useful gifts for ADHD adults. Thank me later!

Our first gift idea slaps. That’s really all that needs to be said.
Tiles make convenient Bluetooth chips that you can attach to commonly lost items – like your keys, wallet, remotes, etc – and connect to your phone! It’s super handy for ADHDers because we are constantly losing things. Plus, if you lose your phone, you can use Tiles on nearby devices to ring it – even on silent!
(You can even link Tiles with voice devices like Alexa!)
Did you know an estimated 40 to 60 percent of children with ADHD also have trouble processing stimulation from one or more senses? (Source) This sensory overload tends to follow a lot of us into adulthood. I know it definitely has for me!
Noise-canceling headphones are a double whammy because they’re great for helping block out excess noise – and beneficial for deep focus.
My third idea is actually something I made for myself: a dry-erase desktop buddy using thrifted photo frames. You can easily draw out the designs, use free printables or head over to Canva and make free printable sheets.
You can find cheaper acrylic wall calendars – like this monthly dry-erase organizer for $45.99 – however, I think having the storage for whiteboard pens, keys, and important items is so beneficial! I’ve previously used DIY dry erase wall calendars, but find it so dang hard to keep track of whiteboard pens . . .
Anyways, the reason these are brilliant gifts for ADHD adults is that they’re large, clearly visible, and changeable organization guides. Our brains struggle with executive function, meaning innate organization is a big challenge. Having an external system to organize our to-dos, responsibilities, and social calendar is a massive help!
If you like the idea of a wall calendar, but don’t have the budget for it, you can easily make a DIY dupe! Head to your local thrift store to find a large frame with glass (this works as a dry-erase surface!). Create the panels and design elements using acrylic paint and paint markers. As someone with hyperactivity, I find it pretty impossible to sit still for long periods of time. Having a standing desk is fab for allowing my brain’s movement dopamine hit without disrupting my work! It allows me to listen to music and dance a little while I stand – and comfortably sit down if I need to. This sit/stand desk riser is perfect because it’s not too large and can comfortably fit on any existing desk your gift recipient has.
Okay, hear me out on this one. It’s full of daily tips and tricks on a variety of subjects – doesn’t that sound awesome?
The problem is that children with ADHD struggle with executive functioning skills, which enable us to plan, prioritize, manage our time and get things done. It may seem simple to the rest of us, but they have trouble deciding what to do first, estimating how long things take, and staying focused. – Source
This is so painfully true – and understanding that difference of “I can and will do the work, but being able to step into a messy room and figure out what to do is kind of beyond me” has been massively helpful in my life. Personally, I ask my partner to give me a list of chores that need doing and, while he’s at work, I just work my way through them. This tear-off chore chart is a great solution too!
#8 – These Bright & Easily-Accessed Habit Trackers Are A Great Way To Visually Track Self-Care Goals
Inattentiveness and lack of executive function can cause ADHDers to lack in the self-care department! I recently shared a TikTok about the link between ADHD and eating disorders – but it can apply to everything from skincare to socializing enough and more. Habit trackers – especially big wall-mounted ones – are an easy way to visualise and track self care.
We all know how important hydration is – but a lot of us forget to eat and drink enough! This is often due to ADHD inattentiveness causing us to miss our body’s hunger and thirst cues – and getting distracted with other (way more fun) things! An easy way that I stay hydrated throughout the day is by doing it on autopilot. I have a massive water bottle that I sit on my desk and drink throughout the day without having to think about it.
These Amazon finds are great because 1. adorable and 2. they’re portable and can easily be taken out and about!
#10 – A Tear-Off Desktop Organiser / Daily & Weekly Planner
Long-time readers of mine will know that I absolutely love bullet journalling – but it’s not something I always recommend anymore. Instead, I love tear-off sheets for a few reasons:
- No need to open them. You can have them sat on your desk everyday waiting – so your planner is right in your eyeline.
- 0 set-up needed.
- Everyday is a new day, so if you haven’t done one all week . . . it doesn’t matter. ADHDers can struggle with black-and-white thinking and failing to do something consistently like a journal can mean we don’t ever pick it up. A tear-off pad has no record of the times you haven’t used it – so, every time you do, it’s a win!
